| These thirteen girls were chosen by a selection committee from a pool of extremely qualified applicants. The selection committee consisted of six representatives from the Atlanta Dream and its partners in the community. The selection committee consisted of the following representatives: Paige Blankenship (Atlanta Dream VP of Marketing and Business Development), Jocelyn Cooper (Shooting Stars Spirit Team), Candice Dixon (GoGirlGo! Atlanta Coordinator), Sprague Paynter (Atlanta Dream Public Relations/Community Relations Coordinator), C.J. Simpson (Host of 95.5 the Beat’s Morning Show/Atlanta Dream In-Game Host), and Ambree Stancil (Atlanta Dream Manager of Business Operations). | |
| The “Power of Girls” mentor program is designed to create one-on-one interaction between the selected girls and the Atlanta Dream players, Shooting Stars and personnel who will serve as their mentors. The program provides a comfortable environment in which girls are encouraged to explore new opportunities designed to foster positive self-image and personal development. Participating girls will be required to attend workshops throughout the program and will have the opportunity to attend various social outings with Dream players and members of the Shooting Stars cheer team. | |
