Offseason Roundup: Megan Frazee

Merhaba (hello) from Ankara, Turkey! I have been over here since October 1st. This is my first time overseas playing, and I have enjoyed it a lot! It has been neat getting to experience a different culture and learn new things about the country of Turkey. I have enjoyed getting to know my teammates and coaches. My club gave us a break from December 21st-January 1st. It was nice to be able to be home for a few days with my family during Christmas. It was very refreshing to see family and friends, and of course to get some good American food. :)

The more I have been over here in Turkey, the more I have come to like it, and feel like I am adjusting. I have gotten used to taking a taxi wherever I go, which is something I didn’t really do much of in the States. The city I live in, Ankara, is a pretty big city (population is 5-7 million) and also the capital of Turkey! I know the entire United States has experienced cold weather, but here in Ankara we have been experiencing rather warm weather for this time of year! The evenings and the nights are cold, but during the day it will be in the high 40's or low 50's.

The Turkish Basketball League is a very competitive league, with a lot of WNBA players over here. About a month ago I played against Sophia. It was nice to be able to see her and talk with her some. Her team ended up beating my team, but it was a good game ☺. On Saturday we will be half-way done with our season and then we will have a 2 week break from games. The end of our season will be mid April, with playoffs starting after that.

I look forward to getting back down to San Antonio in a few months! I know it is a little late, but I hope each and every one of you have a great year in 2010…HAPPY NEW YEAR. :)

God bless,
Megan Frazee
