Hey guys!

Well, we are off to a pretty good start with a record of 3-2. Based on the game we had in Atlanta I was definitely getting a little nervous. I really think that aliens invaded our bodies or someone slipped something in our water cooler. We looked nothing like ourselves but I guess from time to time crazy things happen. I'm proud to say that the team bounced back from that trip and has really stepped it up.  We watched the video of some of the things that went wrong and moved on. At this point of the season we do not expect to be playing our best basketball especially with all the changes that were made. We do expect to steadily get better and better. In our home game against the Mystics our defense looked much better. We stuck to the game plan and was able to maintain our focus from start to finish. Our offense that game was ok but our defense definitely put us in a position to win that game. It was great to see the team bounce back from the loss in Atlanta.

Our next game was against Minnesota. That game had a lot of "other things" surrounding it that could have disrupted our focus.  It was Lindsay's first game back here and lots of talk about the trade that was made. Again, we focused in on the scouting report and did a great job on defense. That win was a total team effort and the stat sheet reflected that. Those are the best wins, when the scoring is spread out and everyone is able to contribute.  Our team is steadily growing closer and closer on and off the court.  We genuinely like being around each other which makes all of this much more fun. I think that on the court you can start to see that and it will only get better. Now the next step is to learn how to play on the road. We went down to DC for a rematch and we knew that we were going to have to play even better because they were going to come out very aggressive. I played in my first game of the season. Going in to that game the plan was for me to play in small spurts. After the first time I went in, I came out exhausted. It was that tired where you taste blood and your throat burns. The worst part was that I could have sworn I played for at least 7 minutes straight, but nope, it was just 3:30. Can you believe that?  I guess I should just be happy I was able to be out there at all. I still have alot of work to do but, hey I played.
